Arts Sports & Entertainment

Fulton County generously supports the arts and recognizes the importance of a vibrant art community.  The Fulton County Department of Arts and Culture funds visual and performing artists, whose works broaden and deepen cultural appreciation among citizens from all walks of life.

Prominent art and cultural institutions include the High Museum of Art; Atlanta Symphony; Alliance Theater; Atlanta Ballet; Atlanta Opera; Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site; Jimmy Carter Center and Presidential Library; Center for Puppetry Arts; APEX Museum; the National Center for Civil and Human Rights; Southwest Performing Arts Theater and Gallery; South Fulton Arts Center; and Wolf Creek Amphitheater.

Atlanta, a professional sports town, has the facilities to prove it: Turner Field Stadium, home of the Atlanta Braves (baseball); the Georgia Dome Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons (football); and Philips Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks (basketball) and Atlanta Dream (women’s basketball). Other professional sports associations and leagues include the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association and the most recent addition – the Atlanta Beat (Women’s Professional Soccer).

Other area attractions include the following: the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola, Centennial Olympic Park, CNN Center, Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Atlanta Zoo and the College Football Hall of Fame.
